- Work from home changed sleep schedule of 60% Indians: Survey
After the lockdown working from home has altered sleep schedules of about 60% of people in India with more people are now sleeping after 11pm than prior to start of the lockdown period, said a survey on this week. The study by Bengaluru based sleep solutions startup Wakefit.co suggests that while the current lockdown has given many the opportunity to work from home and try their hand at household works, it has however impacted the sleep patterns of many. As we know that a good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures for anything.
Over 80 percent of the people believe their sleep schedule will be better once the lockdown ends, according to the study which involved 1,500 people.
Similarly, about 25 per cent of the peoples used to go to bed post 12 at night during normal circumstances, post the lockdown, 29 per cent have started going to bed after 12.
This indicates a 40% rise in late night sleepers since the lockdown.Covid19 related concerns like job security, managing finances at this time and worrying about family/ friends.
While we are not used to working from home, we may feel like everything's upside down right now. Maintaining a daily schedule and routine can be all the more difficult when you have nowhere to go, and no seperation between work and rest.
Established a consistent routine it can be hard to create a strict routine for yourself when there's no external authority enforcing it, but it's the best way to keep your sleep consistent. Try to go bed at the same time every day, and schedule it so you get the nationally recommended 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night.
Whatever the culprit, a lack of quality sleep is also a recurring problem for many peoples who work from home.
